Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is a targeted physiotherapy technique that focuses on specific “knots” or tight areas in muscles that can cause pain locally or in other parts of the body. These trigger points often develop due to overuse, injury, or poor posture, leading to muscle tension, discomfort, and restricted movement.

During therapy, physiotherapists apply focused pressure to the affected points, releasing tension and restoring normal muscle function. This process improves blood flow, reduces referred pain, and promotes relaxation of the surrounding tissue.

Trigger point therapy is highly effective for chronic pain, headaches, sports injuries, and postural imbalances. Patients often experience immediate relief in discomfort, improved flexibility, and a sense of lighter, freer movement after treatment.

When combined with complementary interventions such as deep tissue therapy, soft tissue mobilization, or exercise rehabilitation, trigger point therapy can significantly enhance recovery, reduce pain recurrence, and support long-term functional health.
